What is the QCF?

What is the QCF and how has it changed from the NVQ.

QCF is a framework of accredited vocational qualifications which has been in place since January 2011. The QCF has replaced the long standing NVQ. With the QCF framework, a qualification is composed up of several units known as "Competence/Knowledge Units". The majority of qualifications consist of both Competence Units and Knowledge Units some qualifications have one an not the other.

What does a QCF Assessor do?

The job role of  the QCF Assessor is to prepare candidates for assessments of their work, for whatever award they are trying to obtain within the Qualifications Credits Framework (QCF).  Assessors support, motivate  and assess people their candidates who are working towards their QCF.
